Our Story

The Scottish ACEs Action Community brings people together to share Scotland’s stories, build connection and support local action around trauma, adversity, relationships and resilience.

Why SAAC?

Scotland has a growing conversation about childhood adversity, trauma, relationships and what helps people and communities to thrive. SAAC is a space for that conversation to be shared across Scotland.

We want to bring together people with lived experience, practitioners, communities, organisations, researchers and anyone who wants to understand more and contribute to positive change.

Our approach

Listen

We make space for stories, lived experience, local voices and honest conversations.

Connect

We help people find others who are doing related work in their communities.

Learn

We share events, conversations, resources, books, films and opportunities to learn together.

Act

We support people to turn connection and learning into local action.

A community that grows together

SAAC is intended to be a shared space rather than a single organisation telling Scotland’s story. We want to make visible the people and communities already creating change and create opportunities for new connections.

If you are doing work connected to ACEs, trauma, adversity, relationships, resilience or community action, we would love to hear from you.
